Red Save A Dicey Shopping Site
At Christmas I did most of my shopping online and found one site called Red Save. They had something I wanted so I ordered from there ..
The item came but shortly after broke so I tried to contact them to get a RMA - I never heard anything so in the end I gave up and had marked them for a site I'd never use again ..
Anyway yesterday I was going through my bank account for the past week checking ins/outs and found a payment for £19.95 to them .. I called my bank and asked them what it was .. they put me through to the fraud department .. The woman straight away said she knew why they had taken money from me because she has had alot of enquiries from customers who have had the same thing ..
Apparantly when you order from them you are agreeing to a 12 month subscription which costs £19.99 .. I was not aware of this - I looked on my emails I had got from them when I placed my initial order and there was no information about this on them .. Diggin through thier site I have since found this subscription and apparantly when you order you agree to join this and have 30 days to cancel ..
So I contacted them - the site has no phone number (well of course it doesn't because if it did they would have lots of people phoning and complaining about getting tricked in to paying this subscription) Anyway they haven't got back to me as yet - I am not surprised !!
I am going to persue this with my bank - however one thing I have learnt which I knew but this last christmas I used my debit card for alot of transactions because I didn't want to pile anything on my credit cards ..
So my two tips is 1) avoid Red Save if you can and 2) ALWAYS use your credit card for online shopping ..

The exact same thing has happened to me. I urge everyone to shop elsewhere.
